Our momma is pretty fantastic. She’s loves us a lot and her favorite thing to do is kiss our scruffy faces. I (Darcy) am her very first dog she’s ever had, so I hold a very special place in her heart.
Our momma is well, sort of a freak and sorta obsessive about the things she really loves. Let’s name a few, shall we….
Oklahoma State University – we’ve heard her say it BILLIONS of times…. “I BLEED ORANGE”… yeah, yeah momma we get it! She loves everything and anything that has to do with OSU, her alma mater (what’s an alma mater anyway?) She loves Stillwater, Oklahoma – she sometimes leaves us to go there. She loves the color orange and has quite an abundance of it in everything from clothing to knick-knacks to shoes to purses to stuff she even buys for us. She’s just lucky we look so good in that color or else she’d have a protest on her hands! She loves Pistol Pete and was fortunate to get a photo with him at a football game a few years ago – her lifelong dream (personally we think that sounds like a really stupid dream). A big huge bone filled with peanut butter, chicken and apples; THAT is a fantastic lifelong dream! And she loves all the fight/spirit songs and because of it we both know how to officially spell Oklahoma: O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A, Oklahoma STATE! *flashing the guns* Only OSU fans know what that means… and our momma made us learn how to do it *sigh*. She also loves this place called Eskimo Joes, and we have proof, cause we have a gazillion silly plastic cups she insists on collecting and they all over the house.
Dave Matthews Band – ummmm, this is on the obsessive level. She’s seen 12 shows over a 12 year span of time and has traveled out-of-state for 3 of those shows. Momma has every single one of their albums. We think she has some sort of weird high school crush on this Dave guy. And if you haven’t read up on me (Darcy) yet, than you haven’t yet learned that I share my birthday with this guy on the left (January 9). She thinks it’s cool – I still don’t know what the big deal is.
Starbucks – momma loves a latte like nobody’s business, but it HAS to be from Starbucks! She has one almost every day and is quite the Starbucks expert. Some of momma’s favorite baristas write fun notes on her cups in the mornings which always makes momma’s day a little brighter.
Well, that’s the skinny on our momma. She’s a pretty great lady. Better yet, she’s married to the best man ever – our daddy – who is as wonderful as she is. We’re so lucky cause they both love us an awful A LOT!
As momma would say “Go Pokes!”
